Ww2 airsoft event "Kelly's heroes" held at the place of original shooting of the movie at Vižinada, Croatia
Welcome to the true home of the Movie , Vizinada, Istria in the country of Croatia.
Filming started here and in the surrounding areas in 1969, the village has changed very little in all these years.
Each year since 2017 we have run a big WW2 Re enactment and Airsoft battle, based on the movie and IN the village it was filmed in and around!
There is a new museum ( right next to where the Bank set was built) with some amazing props that have surfaced here and the village dresses back to the 1940’s for the Kelly’s Heroes event.
re enactors and players as well as members of the public travel here from all over Europe and we even had Oddball ( The Great Donald Sutherland) himself come back to visit a few years ago .
The Gold for The Brave ( as the film was named here when released in 1970) event is open to all to re enact/ fight in the airsoft battle as Axis or allied soldiers or even french villagers and or French Resistance fighters.
Vizinada is a beautiful village with warm friendly people and inexpensive villas and lodgings , flights can arrive in to Pula airport which is about a 45 minute drive away from the village.
